Yesterday afternoon I asked my mom if she understood that I was gay. She looked back at me, bug-eyed, and said she only had an “inkling” that I might be. Furthermore, if I am gay, I “wasn’t born that way” like other gays because I “didn’t show any lesbian tendencies” growing up.
Really, mom?…
